Don Taylor holds a master's degree in divinity and oversees our
non-denominational chaplains as well as our Bereavement Department. He coordinates our chaplains' assignments
and visits his own caseload of patients as well.
Don was raised in Central Florida and upon graduation from high school was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy in the class of 1972. He later attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, completing an M.Div. degree in 1975. He then went to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he worked toward a Th.M. degree in Hebrew studies.
While in Maryland, Don pursued his interest in Judaism, studying for six years under an Orthodox Rabbi. He is presently completing studies toward a doctorate in Rabbinic studies.
Don has held pastorates in Texas, North Carolina, Maryland and Florida. He entered the U.S. Navy Chaplain Corps in 1977 and recently retired from the Navy Reserves, after serveing as Force Chaplain, Military Sealift Command, Washington D.C. He has served as staff chaplain at Orlando Regional Medical Center and as Chaplain of the Naval Hospital unit in Orlando.
