Training Levels
Volunteers are required to attend training. The training is 16 hours for volunteers who want to work directly with patients and families and 4 hours for those who want to help in other ways, such as office work or special events.
The complete training is suggested for everyone for an overall understanding of the hospice philosophy and Hospice of the Comforter. There is additional training tailored specifically to specialized areas in which you may want to volunteer. Please refer to our calendar for information on training required for specific areas of service and for dates, times and locations of trainings. There are options for completing training that will be reviewed with you during your interview.
