What People are Saying
Hospice of the Comforter's supporters are passionate about our compassionate caregivers and services. Read below what patients, families and friends have to say about us.
Hospice of the Comforter's Emerald Team provided such care and attention to me and my family when my Dad came home under their care. The team anticipated so many of our needs and gave us the luxury of just spending time with each other and take care of the emotional side of things rather than worry about meds, linens, rules and regulations. Without the support and comfort of hospice, I know I would have been overwhelmed and 'healing' would have taken so much longer. Thanks.

Hospice of the Comforter is a gift from God to all!! They are the most caring and wonderful people I have ever met! There is no greater service in the world than to comfort and care for the your family member at the end of life on earth!
- Kathy Fishman from Orlando, FL
My husband, Richard, was in hospice for just a few days before he passed away. He was cared for so lovingly, and although was never fully awake, I'm sure he was comfortable. After he died, one of the volunteers sat with me and comforted me, and spoke from experience. The shock of his passing so suddenly was eased a bit by her words of wisdom. I was so grateful for his care, and our care. Hospice of the Comforter is truly a blessing.
- Katie Sanchez from Altamonte Springs, FL
My daddy, Secundio Santiago, was at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs when he passed May 24, 2011. The care and devotion the nurses/staff gave to my daddy was immeasurable. While he was not awake during his stay, the nurses kept us up to date and we were well informed every step of the way. I've cared for him for many years before his stay at Hospice and I don't think I could have done as great a job. I miss my daddy everyday and always will.
- Martha Muniz, Daughter from Saint Cloud, Fl
I didn't think it was possible for anyone to love my mom Suzanne more than my family until I met the incredible team of Crisis Care nurses and staff. When I needed to step away for even a brief moment they would sit at her side and take my place at holding her frail hand. What a gift God gave me when he sent these angels home with my mom from the hospital so that she could spend her last days in comfort surrounded by her family. Thank you from my mending heart.
- Michelle Hughes, daughter of amazing mom from Orlando, FL
Although my husband, Jerry, was only under the care of Hospice of the Comforter for about 26 hours, their beautiful Hospice House was filled with the most kind and compassionate people we came into contact with during the entire 16 years of his illness. He died peacefully, without pain, with his family at his bedside and there are no words to express our gratitude for such a beautiful place with such devoted staff and volunteers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
- Connie, wife of 45 years from Central Florida
Each day, the "Purple Team" gave quailty-of-life to my husband, Paul. He went shopping, did laundry, drove his car, played cards 2 nights a week. He lived 8 months and died at home as he wanted...From the bottom of our hearts we will never forget you all...
- Marie Edell - Wife from Orlando,FL
There are no words adequate to express the outpouring of love and care that Dad received from everyone at Hospice of the Comforter. They allowed us to give Daddy the one last gift of love that we could give him...granting his wish to die at home. May God bless all of these angels and when their time comes, may they be the recipients of the same loving care that they so selflessly impart to others.
- The Morrones from Altamonte Springs
I would like to express my deepest thanks to Hospice of the Comforter, especially the Pearl Team and Juli. They enabled us to keep my Mom at home, the place that she always wanted to be. She took such comfort from the staff; just knowing that the nurse was coming made her feel so much better. The guidance that our whole family received was wonderful and we could not have fulfilled her final wish to stay at home without you. You are angels on earth and we will never forget you!
- Tracey Spinicelli-Corn, Daughter from Maitland, FL
Our family would like to express our appreciation for the care given by Hospice of the Comforter to our beloved family matriarch, Mildred Abbott. In particular, the care she received from RN Pamela Abernathy facilitated the peaceful, painless passing (with her family by her side) that was her wish and our blessing. We are grateful that your organization exists! Thanks to all of you at Hospice :)
