Construction began on Hospice of the Comforter's 5.5-acre Community Care Campus in the summer of 2003 and will continue through 2007.
In the first phase, the 25,000 sq. ft. Center for Community Care was built to house Hospice of the Comforter administration and patient care team staff. The Center for Community Care opened in December 2004.
The Center for Community Care also allows more space for our volunteer, development, medical records, community relations and community education departments. The Center for Community Care also houses an end-of-life care library. To donate books or inquire about using its resources, please contact Linda Freda, Director of Education.

The Center for Community Care
The second phase of construction on the campus began in December 2004. Hospice of the Comforter's former office building, located on Montgomery Road, was remodeled as a storage facility for our medical equipment division and also now houses the Horizons Bereavement Center, which holds community grief support groups.

Horizons Bereavement Center
The third phase of our plan began in August of 2006. Hospice of the Comforter is now constructing the only free-standing Hospice House in Central Florida. Patients who have no primary caregiver in their home, or who need a high level of care, will be able to live here in a home-like setting. The Hospice House will open in 2008.
As Hospice of the Comforter's patient census grows, so must we. Undertaking this expansion is the first step to providing care to more patients and families in Central Florida.
