Putting Your Estate
Planning Affairs in Order

The world where Last Will & Testaments, Living Trusts and Durable Power of Attorneys dwell can be very complex and confusing. Even though we know this is an area that needs to be addressed, we tend to put these matters off. The sad fact is that many people leave this life without making adequate preparations for the smooth transfer of their estate to those people and organizations that they love. This leaves their life’s work wide open to be taxed, exploited, and squandered.

However, Hospice of the Comforter can help! Our free estate planning services are
available to anyone in our community. Hospice of the Comforter is committed to aiding not only those facing the end of life, but those preparing for it as well.

Steps to Take

The process is quite simple. First, contact our Planned Giving Counselor, Steve Cecchetti, CDP, at 407-682-0808, ext. 305, or stevececchetti@hospiceofthecomforter.org, to arrange an hour-long meeting at our office or in your home, whichever is most convenient.

When you meet Steve, he will ask you questions that concern what you own, how you own it, and to whom you want it to go. He will discuss various ways you can accomplish your goals, and provide you with the information you need to consider before making many of these important decisions. Please know that all the information you share with Steve is strictly confidential.

Steve will help you form an estate plan summary to take to your attorney. After your Will or Living Trust has been signed, you will have a document that reduces or eliminates Federal Estate Taxes and probate fees, provides for a smooth transition of your estate to those you wish to remember and gives you the peace of mind that you have accomplished your goals.

If you need assistance finding an attorney that specializes in estate planning, please let Steve know. He can help you find an attorney or firm close to your home.

Harvesting the Wisdom of Your Life:  Creating an Ethical Will
Description: Your Last Will & Testament or Living Trust make sure that your property is            distributed according to your wishes, but your legacy involves much more than your            material assets.  An Ethical Will conveys the values you lived by through the stories of your            life.  By reconnecting with the past, seeing the best of successes and failures, recording            achievements, dreams, goals and wishes, you can gain great insight and a sense of pride            and strength. In this workshop, we will experiment with several ways of recalling the past            and telling our stories. This process is a precious gift for the younger generations of our            families and an empowering journey for each of us.
