Demand for Hospice of the Comforter's compassionate care has grown 24% a year over the past five years. While we care for all ages, within 15 years, the number of senior adults in Central Florida will exceed the number of children. We foresee a tremendous demand for our resources as the population ages and more retirees move to Central Florida.
Particularly critical is the need for an in-patient hospice residence, or Hospice House, where we can care for those who need a high level of care or who have no caregiver to help them. No freestanding, home-like Hospice House currently exists for this purpose in Central Florida.
Our 16-bed Hospice House is now under construction with the help of many generous donors. But we have a long way to go to fund this vital project that will cost more than $6 million. Hospice of the Comforter is truly a local charity, only serving the residents of Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties. There is no national hospice funding organization. We rely on our community to help us provide end-of-life care to everyone regardless of their financial resources.
If you are passionate about hospice services and want to make a difference in lives, we invite you to consider financial opportunities that will help build Central Florida's only free-standing Hospice House.
