Home Medical Equipment

Title:                              Driver/ Technician

Summary:                     This position is responsible for the driving of the company vehicle to deliver, pickup, and set-up home medical equipment to all patients.  In addition, the Driver Technician provides instructions on proper usage of the equipment to patients, family and caregivers.

Responsibilities:           Completes the delivery, pickup and set-up of home medical equipment; Works with HME staff members, on-call supervisor, and the HME Transportation Supervisor to plan and implement timely and efficient delivery, pick-up and service of home medical equipment to all patients;   Loads, unloads and sets-up home medical equipment according to licensure standards and guidelines;
Provides proper instruction on use of equipment and answers any questions the patient, family members or caregivers may have regarding the utilization of the home medical equipment;                 
Refers any mechanical maintenance needs to the HME Transportation Supervisor or on-call supervisor; Assists the HME Warehouse Repair Technician with cleaning and maintenance of the home medical equipment and the company vehicle
                               
Requirements:     High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
                                Current valid Florida Driver’s license
                                Minimum of one year experience in delivery and setup of home medical equipment
