Since 1990, Hospice of the Comforter has provided compassionate care to tens of thousands of patients and families who are our friends and neighbors. As a local, nonprofit hospice, our support and resources come from our supportive community. We stand behind our mission of being compassionate people providing compassionate care.
Hospice of the Comforter’s team provides individualized care to you and your loved ones. The number of visits by each team member is determined by your unique needs. We are here to teach and support you and are available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Because we are owned by Florida Hospital, you have the full backing of our world-renowned hospital system if the need should arise.
To meet our superior service standards, we provide a detailed orientation and extensive ongoing education for our staff. Our patients benefit from pharmacy consultations, certified nursing assistants, licensed nurses certified in hospice and palliative care, licensed social workers, and bereavement counselors.
Hospice of the Comforter has served Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties longer than any other hospice. Our staff has experience and training in end-of-life care that includes pediatric hospice care, pain management, cultural issues, veterans, advanced dementia, and grief and bereavement.
We offer an extensive grief-support program available to family, friends and community members throughout Central Florida at no cost.
We recognize that the needs of the people we serve are paramount. We are a service team that respects the talents of each member. We are committed to a culture of mutual respect, compassion and fairness. We encourage personal and spiritual growth and sensitivity in an atmosphere of excellence.
