My Mother arrived at your facility on September 29. She was surrounded by so much love from her family and from the staff. There were many loving staff members but in particular, Susan and Diane were such angels to Mom and me. Diane sat with me Sunday night and explained things that were happening. When Mom took her last breath at 10:40am on Monday, Susan was there and comforted me with such tenderness. Thank you for making Mom's las week full of peace.

I just wanted to let all of the staff that took care of Ted, from the first evaluation to the hospice in-patient unit, were very professioncal and very caring. He had such great care and I was included in the care aspect of that process from the Social Workers to the Nurses and staff of the in-patient unit. I just hope that some day I can be half as caring and compassionate as your staff were. I told them that it is a special kind of person to this job…and Hospice of the Comforter has all of them.

Dear Hospice of the Comforter,
I cannot begin to describe the gratitude and appreciation my family feels for the staff at the Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte. My grandmother spent her last weeks comfortable and content, and never alone. We were all able to spend as much time as we needed with her (which was 24/7) and did not feel like we were in the way. All of our questions were answered in a manner we would understand with patience and understanding, even when we asked the same questions 3 or 4 times.
P.S. This is a picture of my grandmother and my daughter. I was my grandmother's caregiver, and my daughter and her were very close.

To the staff of Hospice of the Comforter,
On behalf of the Denelsbeck family, I would like thank each of you for the compassionate way in which you cared for our mother, grandmother and friend, Louise Denelsbeck. She spent several weeks at Hospice of the Comforter and passed away February 2. We had never had any experience with hospice, so we didn't know quite what to expect the night Louise was transported to your facility (Hospice House). Our concerns were quickly relieved. Your nursing staff made certain that Louise was comfortable and cared for in the best possible way.
Louise has always been our matriarch, and so it was new and strange territory imagining our way of life without her. We are sure of her salvation, and so we know that she was going to be with her Lord, but we knew that it would be difficult for us without her. At every instance, we were met with kindness and empathy, and your entire staff went the extra mile to make certain we had what we needed and were comfortable.
We are a large family made up of Brazilians, missionaries and Southerners. We love to talk and we love to eat. At Hospice of the Comforter, we were allowed to do both in an environment that made things feel almost like normal at a time when they were anything but. Allowing us to be near Louise during her final days, surrounded by our loved ones (and food) made our grief process so much easier to bear.
In addition to stellar employees, the physical building is outstanding. Louise's room was clean, spacious, comfortable, even warm and inviting. It was sanitary and had all of the necessary equipment without being cold and hospital-like. Gathering spaces were large, yet intimate, and the children's playroom was an absolute godsend. This was my daughter's (and her cousins') first experience with death and I wanted to be extremely conscientious regarding they way in which loss and grief were experienced and presented to her. The comfortable atmosphere and children's room played no small part in her ability to process her feelings in a smooth and healthy manner. The children weren't frightened or intimidated by their surroundings; on the contrary, they usually didn't want to leave the playroom each night.
Thank you for helping to make this difficult time so much easier. Thank you for your kindness and compassion. Thank you for your genuine concern for Louise and for our family. We sincerely appreciate your tireless effort to care for all of your patients and their loved ones, and your eagerness to assist at every turn. Thank you.
With Heartfelt Gratitude and Love,
On behalf of L. Denelsbeck and the Denelsbeck Family.
