Dear Hospice Staff & Organization:

Thank you for all your help with my mom, from my initial call on August 7th until she went to be with Jesus on September 2nd.

I don’t know how you find such patient, helpful, kind people. Every person that I came in contact with…be it a phone call or a face-to-face encounter was just the best! Everyone was encouraging and loving! I just can’t say enough nice things about everyone.

We began our journey with the Green Team and concluded with the Emerald Team. We moved my mom home for a week before she passed, and the move was smooth. The Hospice people met my every need. I’m going to list some names of the wonderful Green team! Teresa Grimes (admissions), Angela & Madine (terrific), Debra Eleser (social worker), Geslyn, Alicia & Tamala. And when the Emerald team picked up, they were all just as wonderful! They were Sandra (case manager) Elizabeth (training) and Lisa (social worker), Geva, Maria (what a servant), Joy, Mardyne, Flor, Evangelista (chaplain), Salina, Ashley and Chaplain Greg (what a wonderful bedside prayer after my mom passed with my brother and his wife with us).

And I don’t want to overlook the people that were answering the hotline. I made several calls to them at all hours of the night and they were very kind and helpful, too.

My brother and I wanted to show our appreciation, so we sent in a donation – which seems so small in comparison with all the assistance we received – but we love Hospice of the Comforter and wanted you to hear our “THANK YOU!”

The people we come in contact with certainly have God’s gift for caring for the ill as well as for the family!

With love and gratitude, we say thanks,
J & G Hansen, R. & J Capbell – September 2017

My heartfelt gratitude for your care of us in my husband’s last days. Lori, Katina and Joe’s halos are surely wearing a higher sheen after their efforts on our behalf. Thank you to Katina for David’s last super smile and laugh! Thank you, Joe, for the pleasure your reaction to David’s “mistress” gave him, and time spent with him. Thank you, Lori, especially for holding me tight when I needed it most.
You are all truly wonderful people doing extraordinary work. You do that “do onto others” think to a new level and set a powerful example to the rest of us.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

~Christina H., 2017

Not only did they take excellent care of my mom , they were also there for me. Very professional caring people. I really don't know what I would of done without them. They are the best.

~Susy D., 2016

When facing the most difficult time in my life with my mother, they came! Like the angels in the night not only to comfort her but the whole family. I don't know how I could bear all the stress and pain without their support and caring ways. I pray to God for his blessings upon all of you, for all that you do so well and willing. My gratitude will be unmeasurable.

~Gilbert L., 2014

Hospice of the Comforter has been absolutely amazing! Things that were taking a while to get squared away with us doing it, were taken care of almost instantly with them, all their people have been enormously helpful and kind, and thanks to them, my parents have a lot off their minds at their time of crossroads and are the better for it. Thank you for making the this very sad time in our lives a little easier to cope with, and thank you for making my dad more comfortable than he's been in years.

~Jimmy M., 2014

With heartfelt thanks to Hospice of the Comforter, the nurses and staff of the Green B team for the care and support they showed to our dad. Your ministry to our family was invaluable. You are loved and appreciated. The family of David E. Krause.

- Barbara May from Maitland, Florida

Words cannot express the beautiful experience we had with our family. I will forever be grateful for your service. In a time when we could have felt out of sorts and scared, you provided us the opportunity to feel comfort and strength. Most importantly, my family member was tended to by angels on your staff, and left this world the way he lived his life - with dignity and peace. Sincerely, the family of William Newman, Sr.

- Tiffany Desabrais from Winter Springs, FL

My precious Mother, Frances "Peggy" Weaver was very grateful as we all are of the wonderful care given to her by your agency, especially Susie, who was her nurse. Mom looked forward to her visits and trusted her as she was very caring and concerned, she made my Mom feel safe. I met Susie and she was so sweet and very smart. We asked donations to be given to your agency in leiu of flowers. Thank you for being so good to my precious Mother who I miss so very much!

- Sarah Colby Weaver from Chatham, Illinois

I really appreciate the care our patients receive with your doctors and staff. I am assured that my patient and their family are receiving the high quality of care that I expect. My staff and I often receive compliments from families on care their loved one received.

- Vraj Panara, M.D., P.A. from Altamonte Springs, FL

Hospice of the Comforter's Emerald Team provided such care and attention to me and my family when my Dad came home under their care. The team anticipated so many of our needs and gave us the luxury of just spending time with each other and take care of the emotional side of things rather than worry about meds, linens, rules and regulations. Without the support and comfort of hospice, I know I would have been overwhelmed and 'healing' would have taken so much longer. Thanks.

- Mike Wittenstein, Son from Orlando, FL

Hospice of the Comforter is a gift from God to all!! They are the most caring and wonderful people I have ever met! There is no greater service in the world than to comfort and care for the your family member at the end of life on earth!

- Kathy Fishman from Orlando, FL

My husband, Richard, was in hospice for just a few days before he passed away. He was cared for so lovingly, and although was never fully awake, I'm sure he was comfortable. After he died, one of the volunteers sat with me and comforted me, and spoke from experience. The shock of his passing so suddenly was eased a bit by her words of wisdom. I was so grateful for his care, and our care. Hospice of the Comforter is truly a blessing.

- Katie Sanchez from Altamonte Springs, FL

My daddy, Secundio Santiago, was at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs when he passed May 24, 2011. The care and devotion the nurses/staff gave to my daddy was immeasurable. While he was not awake during his stay, the nurses kept us up to date and we were well informed every step of the way. I've cared for him for many years before his stay at Hospice and I don't think I could have done as great a job. I miss my daddy everyday and always will.

- Martha Muniz, Daughter from Saint Cloud, Florida

I didn't think it was possible for anyone to love my mom Suzanne more than my family until I met the incredible team of Crisis Care nurses and staff. When I needed to step away for even a brief moment they would sit at her side and take my place at holding her frail hand. What a gift God gave me when he sent these angels home with my mom from the hospital so that she could spend her last days in comfort surrounded by her family. Thank you from my mending heart.

- Michelle Hughes, daughter of amazing mom from Orlando, FL

We have missed Mom each day since she died but the process was easier with the support from Hospice of the Comforter.

- Kathy Kersmarki - Daughter from Winter Park, FL

Although my husband, Jerry, was only under the care of Hospice of the Comforter for about 26 hours, their beautiful Hospice House was filled with the most kind and compassionate people we came into contact with during the entire 16 years of his illness. He died peacefully, without pain, with his family at his bedside and there are no words to express our gratitude for such a beautiful place with such devoted staff and volunteers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

- Connie, wife of 45 years from Central Florida

Each day, the "Purple Team" gave quailty-of-life to my husband, Paul. He went shopping, did laundry, drove his car, played cards 2 nights a week. He lived 8 months and died at home as he wanted...From the bottom of our hearts we will never forget you all...

- Marie Edell - Wife from Orlando, FL

I would like to express my deepest thanks to Hospice of the Comforter, especially the Pearl Team and Juli. They enabled us to keep my Mom at home, the place that she always wanted to be. She took such comfort from the staff; just knowing that the nurse was coming made her feel so much better. The guidance that our whole family received was wonderful and we could not have fulfilled her final wish to stay at home without you. You are angels on earth and we will never forget you!

- Tracey Spinicelli-Corn, Daughter from Maitland, FL

Our family would like to express our appreciation for the care given by Hospice of the Comforter to our beloved family matriarch, Mildred Abbott. In particular, the care she received from RN Pamela Abernathy facilitated the peaceful, painless passing (with her family by her side) that was her wish and our blessing. We are grateful that your organization exists! Thanks to all of you at Hospice :)

- The Abbott Family from Winter Springs, FL

I don't even have the words to express the gratitude of my family for the amazing care and comfort you all have provided to my mom and us during these past 6 days. Each nurse, CNA, doctor and volunteer has brought peace to our hearts in helping us know what to expect. You all have been the hands, feet and heart of God to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the love, compassion and mercy you have shown to us. We will never forget you all. With love, the Evans and Barkley family.

- Cheryl Evans- a loving daugter from Apopka Fl

There will never be enough thankful words or praise for the hospice team who cared for my mother and the family during her final days. The family just had the 1 year memorial of our beloved wife and mother. The care that she recieved from the hospice team is still being acknowledged and greatly appreciated. All of you will always be in our hearts, mind and prayers..Thank you again and again. 1936-2009

- Sheila, daugther of Zimmie Mae Royal from Altamonte Springs, Florida

We just want to thank you ALL so very much for making our mother's last months as pleasant and comfortable as they could possibly be. You were so good to our Mother and she succumbed, peacfully, on January 28th. Thank you again for all the wonderful help you gave to our dearly-loved and extremely-missed Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Mrs. Virginia C. Seaton. We're eternally grateful. God Bless your organization...ALWAYS!

- Darlene, Doreen, Drew and Dale Seaton from Miami, Orlando and New Orleans

My father was in the care of Hospice of the Comforter for terminal cancer. Everyone treated my father and our family with respect. Anytime we needed something, they facilitated it. His comfort was their priority and it showed. Thank You!

- Matthew - Son of Thomas (Tommy) Moran from Fairview Park, OH

In 1991, when my mother was dying of metastatic breast cancer, Hospice of the Comforter was the greatest thing since sliced bread as far as I and my family were concerned. They were right there at the end, especially since we only had them for 3 weeks and she went quick they were right on top of things! As a nursing student that was my introduction to hospice care and I wouldn't want any other way! In honor of Gloria McHugh 1925-1991.

- Roseanne - Daughter from Deltona, FL

I have no words to thank all nurses that helped my grandmother. She was happy with all the extra attention. I don't have all the names that I'd like to mention but thanks Eric, Maria and Laura. Laura, you really made my grandma love you. Thank you for that, God bless you and thanks hospice for all your help.

- Waleska, Granddaughter Maria E. Claudio from Orlando, FL

The Hospice House is beautiful and gave a wonderful sense of peace. My sister's room and nurses were amazing. Debbie was my favorite. She was so sweet and compassionate. In such an emotional state of mind she really put me at ease. You should be proud.

- Susie Strassburger - Sister from Santa Fe, NM

I want to take the time to let all of your staff know how much I appreciate all that you are doing for my Dad, and the support you are giving my mom.

- Loreca “Cookie” LaGala - Daughter from Denver, CO

Hospice of the Comforter equipped me to be the best caretaker I could be for my husband in his final days. Their amazing team enabled me to be stronger than I ever dreamed possible.
